I didn't detail his clothes or shade them well. The shirt under the coat is supposed to be black, he wears white fingerless gloves, and his coat has three pairs of small black strips of stiff cloth running down the back. His eyes are a deep blue, the same as Rai's.
History: Zeke was born on the Twin Isles in Blackstorm Port to parents Richard and Catherine Sturm just after the couple returned from a vacation to Hoenn. His birth was, ironically enough, preceeded by an odd fluctuation in the Maelstrom that the islands slowly orbited. It had briefly stopped as the fluctuating tides that fed half the whirlpool changed in coincidence with a shift in the movement of the plate that turned both the islands and the water. The stop was brief, lasting only a few hours, but during that time, many islanders claimed to have seen two strange shapes beneath the water, going back and forth and around the islands. A little over a year after he was born, Zeke's parents took him on a boating trip on their sailboat. It was a clear day when they set sail. Hours later, however, just before they could make it back to the port, a sudden storm brewed. In the confusion, Zeke was lost overboard as he took his first steps. His parents thought he had been claimed by the sea, until a strange creature breached over the boat, dropping their child back onto the boat. Throughout his early childhood, Zeke survived many occurrences through seemingly strange twists of fate that couldn't really be explained. When he turned 6, however, these mysterious occurrences were finally explained by the appearance of a Lugia to Zeke when he was off on his own at the park. Rai and Zeke traveled everywhere ever since. When he brought Rai home to his parents, they were, at first, understandably alarmed. Their son had just brought home a Legendary Pokemon. Eventually, however, after they found Zeke hiding her in the woods anyway, they let him keep Rai. He brought her everywhere he went where Pokemon were allowed and where she could fit. Originally, size wasn't the issue. She was still young, and was less than eight feet tall until she became a teenager. But eventually, Rai got too big to parade around in public, so she roamed around the Twin Isles, usually within a mile of the same town Zeke was in. When Zeke turned twelve, she followed him through the Twin Island league, helping him earn all eight badges, with Rai as Zeke's only partner. When he beat the eighth gym leader, he decided not to go on to the Elite Four. By the end of his journey, he had been traveling with Rai for ten years, and battling with her for five years. He would've left the battling world altogether, if he hadn't been offered the position of the retiring Gym Leader of Sterling City. Rai agreed to be his partner in battle once again, and they took up the position of Gym Leader and Leader's Pokemon. Over the course of the two years they have been doing this, they take breaks to fly around the world, exploring whenever he doesn't have battle appointments. Rai took an excursion by herself, one day, and came back looking strangely happy. Zeke didn't question it, but his beliefs on what had happened were confirmed when, a month after this trip, Rai was in labor with an egg. Zeke almost lost his arm when she bit him during a particularly strong contraction. As it was, he was lucky his shoulder got popped out of its socket. Now he and Rai wait, recover, and wonder how long it will be until the egg hatches.
RP Sample: Zeke stood on the platform in the gym, waiting just that little bit longer, until the appointment was officially broken. It was twenty nine minutes past ten. Thirty past, and the challenge was void. He watched the clock on his pokegear blink steadily. Counting down the seconds. Three... Two... One. The number blinked to thirty. Time to go. He grabbed the ocarina from its cushion by the Leader's Platform, and walked to the door, waving to the caretaker as he left. On the way out the door, his appointment showed up. He waved them off.
"Next time, don't be late."
As the kid mouthed wordlessly at him, Zeke pushed past him, looking for the meadow where Rai enjoyed resting, just west of town. When he reached it, he could see her laid out, lazily sunning herself. Funny, he expected her to be watching the egg. He walked the rest of the distance to the meadow, and waited for her to notice him. It didn't take long. She crooned and he felt her emotions flooding over him. She flipped over, and took a few steps towards him. He scratched her head for a few seconds. She chirruped at him, before licking him from head to foot. He laughed, and wiped his face off, flipping his hand to fling off the goop.
"It's good to see you too, Rai."
In his head he heard her trying to send words across the link. "Happy... Zeke... Here..."[/u] She looked awkwardly at him, and he laughed a little bit.
"You'll figure it out soon."
Her tongue wiped up his face, and he wiped it off again. As he flicked the saliva off his hand, she lowered her head, indicating she wanted him to climb on. He did so, sitting just behind their mark on her neck. As he got ready, however, she shot up faster than he was ready for. He clung on as she screeched joyfully, and spread her wings. She banked around, and his laugh joined with her cries of joy as they soared over the ocean, wind in their faces and a salty surf smell in the air.
Personality: Zeke is a carefree person, not really enjoying battling, but enjoying the satisfying feeling of seen a good trainer in combat. He is extraordinarily attached to Rai, his Lugia. She has saved his life on more occasions than either can remember or care to admit. Their bond is deeper than simply trainer and Pokemon, they are, to use a somewhat controversial term, soul mates. He is the rational member of the pair, keeping Rai out of trouble as much as possible. When he makes friends, he is a protective friend, taking blows for them despite his weaker stature.
On a side note, he has a special, whistling call that Rai can hear up to three miles away, in case he finds himself needing her by his side.

Fighting Style: Given Zeke's limited Pokemon count, having only Rai to battle with, his style is very conservative (that, and he hates seeing Rai hurt). He has Rai use long range attacks to whittle down the opponent, or hit and run tactics for quick health drops. When it gets down to where Rai can't avoid attacks easily, she, like most Lugia, is a wall of defense. Along with having good HP, her Defense and SpecDef are her highest stats, not to mention her other good stats.
Gym Layout: The Silver Gym has changed a bit since its last occupant left. The building itself is rectangular, longer than it is wide, and containing a wide open arena with little obstruction for a battle. The back area of the gym has a platform the leader stands on when he waits for his opponents. Above this platform is a giant steel sliding shuttered roof that can open up to allow Rai entry when she's out and about. This roof slides back in segments towards the front of the gym when opened. The walls are a light blue color, coated in a wallpaper-like substance. The floor is mirror-like, with black and white superimposed lines on them that trace out the Gym's floor patterns. The roof in and of itself is very high, allowing Rai a lot of room to move for their battles.
