Name: Chatot. No one refers to him by any other name.
Species: Chatot
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Height: 1’ 8”
Weight: 4.2 lb.
Date of Birth: February 10
Distinguishing Markings: His beak is orange rather than red.
Appearance:
Location: Burned Tower
Level: 45
RP Sample: The top of Burned Tower was a lonely place for Chatot to sit, but that was precisely his aim: to be alone for a while. Lately he had been cooped up inside of the giant tower, begging others to get food for him because he disliked being in public in Ecruteak. Now he was thinking of a good place to visit with a map he stole from an unsuspecting trainer. Within a few minutes of peeking at the map, a small Pidgey perched beside Chatot and began chirping in his direction.
“Wait, what?” he asked. “No, get offa my perch you dumb bird.” With that he smacked the back of the Pidgey’s head with his wing. “I’m not here to entertain you, you buffoon. And find your own damn food! Oh what is that? You want to know where the best place to nest is? HOW ABOUT SOMEPLACE ELSE?! This city is boring, you hear me? B-o-r-i-n-g. And I don’t mean in the sense that you can’t find food and possibly a mate, oh no. Besides those two things, you’ll just be a slave to the humans for fun and games. I’d suggest you fly off, little birdy, before this city poisons you.”
Mr. Pidgey became saddened by Chatot’s rant and looked down, his eyes painting a picture of impending depression. Chatot thought he had gone too far.
“Sorry for my rudeness,” he began, “but it’s this place. Really, there are more beautiful cities in Johto and even more in regions outside of here! Just don’t stick around here. I’m certainly not going to.”
And so he diverted his attention back to the map, and an island caught his eye.
“Sinnoh hmmm…It will be a challenging flight over water, but I think I can make it. Bon voyage, Mr. Pidgey.”
Flying off, he didn’t look back.
History: Chatot was born in Ecruteak 20 or so years ago to two Chatot that decided to kick the bucket early, leaving Chatot to fend for himself in the awkward city. The majority of his early life was spent fooling people in the city into thinking he was an injured Pokemon so they would give him food, food he needed to survive. Eventually others discovered that he wasn’t so bad off and stopped falling for the injured Pokemon cries, but they gave him food for another reason: entertainment. Not many people knew of a Chatot that could speak on the same level as a competent human being. People would ask him to do impersonations of Pokemon they owned, impersonations of people they knew, and just weird tricks.
Despite this newfound success, Chatot lived out the rest of his time in Ecruteak doing the same thing every day, over and over, until it drove him mad. He then decided to move into Burned Tower where he enjoyed persuading wild Pokemon inside to find food to eat. Then, even that became boring.
Suffice it to say that he really needed to move. There were so many things to touch, so many places to see that he felt the desperate need to, in a sense, escape. And that is where we find him today, longing to leave but unsure of where to go.
Personality: Chatot is an energetic bird with a love for manipulation. Having learned English so well, he can trick people into giving him food, feign a witness to a crime scene and “replay” what the supposed criminal said, thus earning himself some respect and even more food. However, the dull life around Ecruteak has made him sick of staying in one place for long, so lately he’s been really adventurous and eager to go places he has never ventured before, preferably with someone he knows (that is not a human). He doesn’t hate humans, he just finds their company to be kind of a nuisance, seeing as how some want to capture him and he dreads the thought of being in a Pokeball. Chatot also enjoys whistling (something very difficult for a bird like him to learn), and he often whistles tunes such as the ones here.
Strengths: He’s powerful against Bug, Fighting, and Grass types because of his Flying type. He’s also powerful with persuasion and general mischief, as a normal Chatot should be when facing enemies. Also, given that he is flying, he can move quite fast for a bird his size.
Weaknesses: Chatot is Flying type, so he’s naturally weak against Electric, Ice, and Rock types. Also, his size proves to be a disadvantage when fighting larger Pokemon, and few of his moves are very powerful (unless you count Mirror Move).
Ability: Tangled Feet
When confused (in battle), Chatot’s evasion increases by 20%
Attacks/Moves:
Name: Peck
Type: Flying - Physical
Effect: Peck inflicts damage with Chatot’s beak and has no secondary effect.
Name: Mirror Move
Type: Flying - Status
Effect: Mirror Move causes the user to use the last move that the target used. A move called by Mirror Move in this way counts as the last move used. Mirror Move will fail if the target did not make a move selection in the round before the use of Mirror Move, switches out during the round Mirror Move is used, or if the opponent's last move used was Mirror Move. Paralysis, confusion, recharging, and building up for a multi-turn move have no effect to the last move used. If Mirror Move is used against an target that was fully paralyzed or hurt itself right before its use, Mirror Move will still use the last move that the target used. If Mirror Move is used during the first turn of a multi-turn move, Mirror Move will use the move that the opponent used before that move (or fail if no move was previously made).
Name: Fury Attack
Type: Normal - Physical
Effect: Fury Attack does damage, hitting 2-5 times per use with Chatot’s talons. There is a 37.5% chance that it will hit 2 times, a 37.5% chance that it will hit 3 times, a 12.5% chance that it will hit 4 times, and a 12.5% chance that it will hit 5 times. Each attack made has an equal chance to land a critical hit.
Name: Chatter
Type: Flying - Special
Effect: Chatter inflicts damage and may confuse the target.
Name: Uproar
Type: Normal - Special
Effect: The Pokemon does exactly what the name implies--it makes an uproar that is loud enough to damage the opponent and wake up sleeping Pokemon nearby.
Name: Hyper Voice
Type: Normal - Special
Effect: Another noise-based move that deals heavy damage to the target without the need for physical contact.
Hold Item: Metronome
Boosts power of moves used repeatedly. Each time a move is used consecutively, its power is boosted by 10%, increasing up to a maximum of 100%. Switching or using another move returns the move's power to normal.
Poke Ball Type: Not captured yet…however he likes to carry around an empty Friend Ball just for fun.
